Waupaca County Register in Probate
The Register in Probate is an appointed position by the Circuit Court Judges and is responsible for maintaining both public and confidential records. This office provides assistance to attorneys and the public. It accepts for filing estates, guardianship, mental health commitments, adult adoption and juvenile case types.

Public Records

You may utilize the Wisconsin Circuit Court Access a/k/a (CCAP-Consolidated Court Automation Program) website at www.wicourts.gov to conduct non confidential case searches and find forms.  A public access terminal is also located in the Waupaca County Probate Office to conduct case searches.  If the record is housed on site, it is available for viewing at the counter in the Probate Office.  This office maintains estate records from 1860 to present*.  Copies of public probate records are available for purchase.  The statutory charge for copies is $1.00 per page.

 *Please note that original probate files from 1930-1939 are in the possession of the State Historical Society.  They also have a microfilm copy of estate records prior to 1930.  To view or order copies from the Wisconsin Historical Society, contact the Archives Reference Staff at askarchives@wisconsinhistory.org or call 608-264-6460.

Directions & Hours

The Probate Office is located on the third floor of the Waupaca County Courthouse near the elevators.  The Courthouse is located off Highway 54 behind the Law Enforcement Center, at 811 Harding Street, Waupaca, Wisconsin, 54981.  The Probate Office hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with the exception of observed holidays.
