Land Information
Primary Duties and Requirements
- The County Surveyor has been an appointed position since October 30, 1978 based on Waupaca County Resolution #17
- County Surveyor must be a Professional Land Surveyor, licensed by the State of Wisconsin
- Executes land surveys on behalf of other county departments
- Maintains and replaces original Public Land Survey System (PLSS) monuments
- Files/maintains documentation (tie sheet example) pertaining to the physical location of PLSS monuments
- Retains records of private surveys completed by other Professional Land Surveyors within the county
- Acts as an interal resource regarding parcel mapping / land surveying questions
- Acts as a resource for the general public to ask questions related to land surveying issues
