Waupaca County participates in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Participation requires the County to adopt and enforce minimum regulations for floodplain development. In turn, Waupaca County residents are eligible for flood insurance, floodplain-related grants and loans, and flood disaster relief. Along with minimum Federal standards, Waupaca County is also responsible for the adoption and enforcement of State floodplain regulations, which in some cases are more restrictive.
