Snowmobile Patrol

The Waupaca County Sheriff's Office Snowmobile Patrol is a Department of Natural Resources subsidized program in which Waupaca County, through the Sheriff's Office, provides Snowmobiling law enforcement on Waupaca County.

Snowmobile Patrol Officers are responsible for patrol, enforcement, emergency response, assisting snowmobilers in need, accident investigation and assisting in search and rescue.

In 2022 Snowmobile patrol issued 2 citations and 2 written warnings for the season.  Citations were issued for non-registration and no trail pass, written warnings were issued for no trail pass and fail to comply with regulatory signs.  The snowmobile patrol season was very short with some zones not able to open the trails at all. As a result of this, patrol concentrated their efforts in the northern part of the county.

The Waupaca County Sheriff's Office encourages all snowmobilers to take part in a snowmobile safety course and to always abide by all snowmobile laws and safety rules.
